We expect all community members, approved volunteers and other third parties to share this commitment and to review and affirm that they have read, understood, and will abide by our Community Code of Conduct. At our school, we use safer recruitment practices and pre-employment background checks, to maintain the highest standards of safeguarding and child safety. Our school's practices reflect and are aligned with school policy which is based on international law and on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the child of which Peru is a signatory.

Educational research presents a strong argument for faculty to engage in regular, team based professional learning. FDR agrees that the most promising strategy for sustained, substantive school improvement is offering time for high-quality collegial discussions, targeted to modern instructional practices and student achievement, and allowing teachers to inquire and reflect on their teaching strategies. FDR's schedule is designed to include time each week for faculty to collaborate together and learn together toward school-wide initiatives and divisional goals aligned to the strategic plan. Additionally, FDR partners with consultants, artists-in-residence, and thought-leaders to ensure that we stay relevant and innovative; we host local/regional conferences and symposia, in which FDR faculty and students learn alongside other professionals in our region.
