Condor Legacy & Traditions

In 1946, a small group of parents in Lima had a big dream: to create a school where their children could learn in English, continue with an American-style education, and stay connected to the world while living in Peru. They opened the doors of a modest schoolhouse and named it after Franklin Delano Roosevelt, a U.S. president who stood for resilience and hope.

From those early days with only a handful of students, Colegio Roosevelt grew steadily, guided by a spirit of innovation and a sense of community. Families from around the globe began to choose Roosevelt, drawn to its warm environment and strong academics.

By the time the campus moved to La Molina in the 1990s, the school had become a vibrant hub of learning, representing dozens of nationalities. Today, Colegio Roosevelt offers programs from Early Childhood through High School, combining a U.S.-based curriculum with the International Baccalaureate, and preparing graduates to thrive anywhere in the world.

The story of Roosevelt is still being written—by every student, teacher, and family who becomes part of its community.

Hail to Roosevelt: A Legacy in Song

Hail to Roosevelt is the anthem of Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt, uniting generations of students, alumni, and staff. The song honors the school’s setting in Peru, its international outlook, and the values of loyalty and friendship that define our community.

Sung at important gatherings, is a reminder that, wherever their paths may lead, Condors will always carry with them the spirit of their Alma Mater.

The 75th Anniversary Book: Telling the Story of Colegio Roosevelt
