Diploma Program

Here is how the IB Diploma program links to the FDR mission:

Empowerment:

• goal-setting through clearly organized criterion-referenced assessment that helps students and parents understand how grades are consistently determined and how to reach new levels of learning

• development of key Approaches to Learning skills that enable students to become organized, collaborative, and thoughtful leaders.

Passion for Learning:

• CAS, the Extended Essay, and a wide range of clubs and service opportunities enable students to follow their passions in a supported environment

• a broad-based subject offering ensures that students have breadth within their educational experiences, and this allows them to discover their passions at a formative age

• the IB’s inquiry based model also ensures that learning starts with the students’ curiosity, and this helps them to cultivate inquisitive minds for future learning in a dynamic world.

Reflection:

• reflection focused on the Learner Profile attributes in each year of the program maintains a constant focus on character development, and this helps students to serve as concrete examples of integrity within our community.

• annual student-involved conferences give students the chance to exemplify and vocalize their personal academic and social development, while at home parents direct the development of their values associated with family and culture.

Socially Responsible Solutions:

• Service Learning within the community is an obligatory part of an IB student’s education in each year of the program. This participation is tracked through CAS portfolios at Colegio Roosevelt and is a requirement for maintaining our IB authorization.
