MS PRINCIPAL CANDIDATE: On Monday, November 5th, there will be an opportunity for interested parents of current 5th through 8th graders to meet the second candidate for the MS Principal position commencing July 2008.
Mr. Mark Anderson is currently at the Cairo American College in Egypt. The MS PTA Advisory has formulated a list of questions for the interview that will be held in the Roosevelt Room from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. You are welcome to attend to meet the candidate and learn about his educational philosophy and leadership style.
There will be simultaneous translation.
CWW trips will be departing in one week! This involves getting to school very early to meet the group to go to the airport. Please be on time.
YEARBOOKS from the 2003-04 and 2004-05 school years are on sale for $10 or S/ 30. If you would like one, send the money in with your child to the MS office. We also have some MS yearbooks from 2002-03, 2001-2002, 2000-01, 1999-2000 (small ones, just middle school) for $3 or S/ 9 each.
MOVING TO A NEW COUNTRY/SCHOOL IN DECEMBER? Please contact Nora Marquez to initiate the withdrawal process. First semester reports and transcripts will not be ready until the last day of school, December 21st at noon. Previous records will be copied and ready as long as we have the withdrawal form by the previous Friday.
OUTSTANDING OBLIGATIONS: Students who have overdue library books, textbooks not turned in, school musical instruments, or team uniforms will NOT receive report cards on December 21st. they will instead receive a letter saying what the outstanding obligation is. The Middle School Office will not be open to distribute report cards until January 7. Please encourage your child to clear all obligations early.
SIXTH GRADE PARENTS, this is the CWW Cusco countdown that all sixth teachers are following in sixth grade prior to our trip. We hope that this is of help to you now that deadlines approach. Mrs. Castañeda

UP AND COMING…
SURFING COMPETITION:
Colegio Markham is hosting a Surfing competition at San Bartolo on Nov 17th. There are categories for Students (Sub-14, Sub-16, Open and Open Longboard) as well as Parents/Teachers. If you or your child are interested in participating, register with Ms. Carmen in the PE office by MONDAY, NOVEMBER 5. The registration fee is $10. U-14 RUGBY TOURNAMENT:
Roosevelt Middle School is hosting a Rugby tournament on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. to noon. We have a rapidly-growing Rugby program in the Middle School, and for many of our students, this will be their first Rugby tournament. Come on out and cheer them on!

To the Menores and Medianos Track and Field team for a great showing in the ADCA meet October 25 and 26. The following athletes placed in the top 4 of their events:
Leonardo Coz - 2nd in 80m, 2nd in 600m run, 3rd in 4 X 75 relay
Antonio Mires - 1st in shot put, 3rd in 4 X 75 relay, 5th in high jump
Jon Bradley - 3rd in 4 X 75m relay
Fernando Romero - 3rd in 4 X 75m relay
Camila Ferreiro - 4th in 80m
Ilonka Gruetzmacher (5th grade) - 3rd in long jump
Please note that the Track and Field team will no longer be meeting this semester. There will be a celebratory pizza party in Ms. Cook’s classroom – HS 3 – at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
