STUDENT LED CONFERENCES:  Thank you for participating in your child’s education.  97.7% of the students had conferences with their teachers and parents. We hope that the MYP criteria and grading are a bit more clear.

HONOR ROLL:  We do not calculate the honor rolls at the middle of the semesters, but to give you an idea of what it will look like in December:

Average Overall Level of Attainment greater than 6.1  Roosevelt Scholar (use to need a perfect 4.0)

Average Overall Level of Attainment greater than 5.6  Principal’s List (use to need a 3.5)

Average Overall Level of Attainment greater than 4.9 Honor Roll (use to need a 3.25)

CWW TRIPS:  We have completed the signup process for the Classroom Without Walls trips which will be Nov 12-16.

84 students, 8 teachers and a nurse will be traveling to Cusco

69 students and 7 teachers will be traveling to Iquitos

70 students and 7 teachers will be traveling to Trujillo/Chiclayo

As the time of the trips approach you will be asked to fill out permission slips for UP-TO-DATE insurance, emergency contact, allergy and medical information. Currently, 64 of the 268 students in the middle school have accident insurance that was not input during the re-enrollment process or the policy renewal date is before the trips. For some parents, it seems like we continue to ask for the same information repeatedly – but the reason is that we need to insure that what we have is accurate and up-to-date.

Information about the trips, and photos from previous years, may be found at:

Cusco: http://www.amersol.edu.pe/ms/6th/cww6th/cww6th.asp

Iquitos: http://www.amersol.edu.pe/ms/7th/cww7th/cww7th.asp

Trujillo/Chiclayo: http://www.amersol.edu.pe/ms/8th/cww8th/cww8th.asp

Currently all seats are filled for the trip to Trujillo/Chiclayo.  The agent is checking into the possibility of getting more seats on  the flights and a van to use with extra students. If that is possible we will open the trip if we get a sufficient number of additional  students. If you have not paid for the Trujillo/Chiclayo trip and are interested in having your child attend, please send an email to cdenegri@amersol.edu.pe   and   mhollada@amersol.edu.pe.  We will have only a small window of time next week to commit to this if the seats are available.

In terms of both Cusco and Iquitos, the airline tickets have been purchased for students who have paid.  If others are interested we have to check with the agents to see if they can get additional seats on the same flight.  If you are interested in sending your child to Cusco or Iquitos and have not yet paid, please email

mhollada@amersol.edu.pe and we will attempt to get the additional seats next Wednesday.
