El Chasqui 2008 will arrive in June. This yearbook has more than 200 pages all in color. All students and staff grades EC3 – 12 are included. Pay for your book by May 9th and the cost is S/ 50. Last year’s price was $45. We have sold a number of ads in order to lower the price. We will order some extra books and they will be sold for S/ 70. You may order your book by paying in the Cashier’s Office. During conference week you may pay in the Elementary or Middle School Offices or in the library on HS conference days. At this reduced price you can buy one for each child in your family!
SIXTH GRADE PARENTS: There will be an informal coffee at Starbucks in El Polo on Tuesday, April 29th, at 8:30 a.m. Roxana Remy will talk about the program she has been doing with the students regarding bullying. This is organized by your sixth grade representatives.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT IMAGES YOUR CHILD IS DOWNLOADING AND/OR SENDING TO FRIENDS? – A number of students at another private school in Lima are facing charges after downloading pornographic images of underage individuals, saving them on their computers and then sending them to friends by email. They certainly had no idea that they could end up in jail and have a criminal record for doing this. This is something that could follow them for years to come and even impact what college they attend or career path they follow. Warn your child – this is not a joke. What might seem like “normal” adolescent curiosity may be against the law and carry consequences which are beyond what you would like your child to face.
ACCESS TO POWERSCHOOL will be turned off from April 25th at 3:30 until May 5th at 8:00 a.m. Teachers will be finalizing mid-semester grades and Ms Emy will be printing reports. This means that the grades will be changing during that time as teachers input grades and determine levels of achievement. Report cards will be distributed in the office on conference days, May 5-9.
