IS YOUR CHILD BEING STALKED??? Anyone, young or old, who uses a computer can be the victim of cyber crime. This includes harassment, unsolicited obscene words and pictures, attacks on your credit and identity, and invitations from predators. Parents need to be informed so that they can help their children to be safe with internet use. Please join us Wednesday, April 9th at 7:00 p.m. in the Little Theatre for a presentation by Jorge Aguinaga who has been involved in educating kids and adults about this topic through an initiative by Microsoft.
CONFERENCES THIS SEMESTER: Please note that due to the government mandated school closing in May we have changed the Student-Led Conference Week to May 5-9. You will receive an appointment slip in the Monday Envelope on April 14th so that you can plan your time.
All 7th Grade Parents are invited to an Afternoon Tea on Friday, April 18th at 1:15pm at Las Moreras 283 in Camacho. Ms. Roxana Remy (7th grade counselor) will be our special guest speaker. She will be talking about the 7th grade bullying curriculum that all 7th graders are involved with this semester. If you have any questions, please contact Cyntia Rodriguez (cyntia.rodriguez66@gmail.com) or Nicole Pinto (jimicito@msn.com).
KONDORTECH goes to Japan. Please click on the link below. The middle school has offered a course in Robotics for the past few years. There are several students who continued with their interest beyond the semester long course and worked after school to continue learning. Last year a team of seven eighth – tenth graders traveled to Norway after winning the invitation to the European Open in a national competition held here at FDR. This year FDR again won an invitation in the Peruvian national championship held in December. A team of six high schoolers, all of them who began with Robotics in the middle school, will be traveling to Tokyo for the First League League Open Asia Championship the end of April.
