IQUITOS TRAVELERS – 7TH GRADE -  The 7th grade teachers will call Mrs. Holladay Sunday night when they arrive in Iquitos from the airport or dock. An email will be sent to all 7th grade parents announcing the arrival.  On Friday, they will call when they are ready to take off from Iquitos. An email will be sent to all 7th grade parents so that you will have an idea of when they will arrive back at FDR.  If any messages are forwarded through the Iquitos office of Explorama during the week we will pass along the information by email.

CONGRATULATIONS to Anne-Sophie Hibon, grade 6, for another successful synchronized swimming international competition.  At the Copa Pacifico 2006 in Santiago, she and her teammates from Peru won a gold medal in the team event, she won a gold in the dual event, and she collected a silver medal in solo. Good job.

If other students have successes to share in national and international competitions, please let us know so we can spread the good news.

SEATBELTS ON THE BUSES:  Seatbelts have been installed in our school buses.  It is REQUIRED that all riders use them from the time they get on the bus until the bus comes to a complete stop at their destination.  The drivers and adults on the buses will report those who do not follow this requirement and we will also be reviewing videos.  Please talk to your child about this important safety issue. Also, remind them that it is law that all passengers in a car use a seatbelt – even those in the back seat.

WEDNESDAY CAS ACTIVITY:
