ADCA DANCE:  Sixth graders Sofia Garay, Yeriz Nuñez and Maria José Torres performed Thursday night at Colegio Humbolt in the annual ADCA Dance Festival.  Congratulations to them on representing Roosevelt so well in front of a full auditorium from six different schools.

ADCA ART:  Art work from all school divisions will be on display at Colegio Raimondi on La Fontana 755, La Molina, next week. The opening is Monday night at 6:30 p.m.  You are invited to see the work of our students as well as that from the other ADCA schools. The exhibition will be opened to general public  from Tuesday, September 12 to Friday, September 15, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.

NUEVA ACRÓPOLIS:  Our symphonic band and the high school band will be performing Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the “Centro Cultural Peruano-Japonés” in San Felipe. Come to see our students in this annual competition which includes many schools from around Lima. It is a great opportunity for our students to perform in a well designed, acoustically sound theater.

Clinica Santa Margarita has offered to come on campus to give Yellow Fever shots to Iquitos travelers for S/ 65 each.  Seventh or eighth graders traveling were given the information to take home. Yellow Fever vaccinations are NOT mandatory, talk to your family physician.

We will arrange to have Permisos Notariales done on campus for all three grade levels.  Grades 6 & 7 will be during conference week but grade 8 will be done the last week of September. More information was given to those who are traveling.

IQUITOS:  Fifty-eight 8th graders, 6 teachers, and our superintendent will be traveling to Iquitos on October 15.  Fifty-seven 7th graders and 6 teachers will go the following week.

SIXTH GRADE TRIP TO CUSCO:  Payment for the 6th grade trip to Cusco will be accepted on campus on September 18th and 19th. The cost of the trip this year will be $642. Cash is preferred, checks are not accepted. If you would like to use a credit card there is an extra fee.

AGENDA FOR GRADE 8 COFFEE SEPTEMBER 14:  Eighth grade is the bridge to high school. What can the parent expect and what are some tips for supporting an eighth grade student. As students get older what are the new challenges for them and parents on the social scene.
