Clinica Santa Margarita has offered to come on campus to give Yellow Fever shots to Iquitos travelers for S/ 65 each.  Seventh or eighth graders traveling will be given the information to take home.

We will arrange to have Permisos Notariales done on campus for all three grade levels.  Grades 6 & 7 will be during conference week but grade 8 will be done the last week of September. More information will be given to those who are traveling.

 

IQUITOS:  Currently we have 55 confirmed 8th graders traveling there are no more available seats, in fact the last couple to pay had to pay an additional  $10 for seats.  55 are confirmed for 7 grade. We have others pending while we check the availability of seats and there possibly are others who have done a bank transfer but have not faxed or emailed the bank transfer information so we do not know about them.

 

SIXTH GRADE TRIP TO CUSCO:  The sixth grade will be traveling to Cusco the early morning of October 23rd  and returning by midday on the 27th. The cost of the trip this year will be $642. Payments dates are September 18th and 19th. There will be an informational meeting for parents as part of the Coffee on September 7th.  There will be an information booklet going home in the Monday Envelope on September 4th.

AGENDA FOR GRADE 8 COFFEE SEPTEMBER 14:  Eighth grade is the bridge to high school. What can the parent expect and what are some tips for supporting an eighth grade student. As students get older what are the new challenges fro them and parents on the social scene.

TOURNAMENTS OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL:  Many of our students compete nationally and internationally. We will try to recognize those in this update as we hear of them, we have many talented athletes involved in swimming, tennis, golf, badminton, water-skiing, surfing and other sports outside of the school.

Anne-Sophie Hibon, grade 6, competed in the Pan American Championships in Synchronized Swimming in Mexico. She represented Perú in the Duet category for under 12 year olds and won a silver medal.  Congratulations Anne-Sophie.

Reem Fayed, grade 7, took second place in the Municipality of Santiago de Surco tennis championship.  Congratulations Reem.

AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

COMING UP …

  • MEDIANOS (91-93) BOYS BASKETBALL will start practicing Monday, Sept. 4.
  • ADCA TRACK and FIELD meet for kids born in 1988-1993 will take place Wednesday and Thursday, Sept. 20 and 21.  (Please note that Sept. 21 is an FDR holiday.) If your child would like to compete, please have him/her contact Ms. Alba by Tuesday, Sept. 5.
  • ADCA Dance Festival is taking place at Humboldt the evenings of Sept. 7 and 8.
