Seusical!  directed by Anne Cochenour and choreographed by Ann Gould, will be presented at 7:00 p.m. (en punto) in Center Stage Thursday and Friday nights.  Do you have a favorite Dr. Seuss character?  If so, SEUSSICAL is for you!  In the musical, SEUSSICAL, many of Dr. Seuss’ characters come together.  In the course of the evening, some will fall in love, some will have desperate adventures, and some will save the world.  And they’ll all travel everywhere from the Jungle of Nool to McEligott’s Pool to Palm Beach.  Dr. Seuss believes in helping a friend, in not giving up, and in keeping a promise.  He believes in the value and dignity of others, in working to preserve the fragile sweetness of the natural world, and that peace is the ultimate ideal.  You will find all of this at the heart of SEUSSICAL.  This will be a great night for kids of ALL ages.  Bring the whole family!

SIXTH GRADERS will be viewing a film entitled “Mighty” during the last week. It is rated PG-13 but the story is about diversity and two students working together to overcome problems.  We feel it is very fitting for our students at this point in time.  The teachers will be viewing the film with the students and will be discussing it later.  If you prefer that your child NOT see this film, please send an email to mhollada@amersol.edu.pe.

SEVENTH GRADERS will be viewing the film “Life is Beautiful” during the last week as a follow-up to their holocaust studies.

OVERDUE LIBRARY BOOKS: If you can no longer enter PowerSchool to check your child’s grades it is most likely because he/she owes a book or payment for a lost book at the Media Center.  Please help us get our books returned or payment made.  Many students also owe money at the kiosks. This account should be cleared also.

YEARBOOKS ARE IN:  Yearbooks are in and there are still some available.  Please pay the $40 in the Cashier’s Office.

REMINDER:

GRAPHING CALCULATORS are required for all ninth graders and all 8th grade extended math students. They are recommended for regular math 8 students also.  We have a set of calculators which students may use during class but these may not be taken home. We recommend that students buy the Texas Instruments TI-83 or TI-84. These are not available in Lima. We suggested that if you were traveling in January/February that you pick one up then. If you did not, please get one during this vacation. If you have questions about the calculator please contact Mr. Gould bgould@amersol.edu.pe    or  Ms. Freeburn  kfreebur@amersol.edu.pe    The PTA has a few calculators for rent also.

THE LAST DAY OF SCHOOL IS JUNE 28TH.  If you are moving and want records for the student’s new school, please fill out a withdrawal form. Records will be given to students on June 28th. We are not able to give them out sooner since we have to wait for all grades to be in.  Books and materials must be returned to the Media Center by June 12th.  Textbooks are due by June 22nd.  Students who do not turn in Media Center materials will have their access to PowerSchool denied on June 15th.  Students who do not have textbooks in by June 22nd will have their access denied.  Students will receive report cards on June 28th. If they have books or materials outstanding or owe fines to the Media Center the report card will be held.  Report cards not picked up on June 28th may be picked up in the Middle School Office.  School Offices will be closed July 4-15.
