Share Your News: Keep us informed of your child’s achievements outside of school (sports, the arts, etc.) so we can recognize him/her. Send an email describing your child’s news to the MS Office (msoffice@amersol.edu.pe) and we will celebrate through Monday Messenger and Town Hall meetings.

From the MYP Coordinator: Thank you to all parents who attended the Introduction to MYP Presentation last Wednesday morning. It is always great to meet parents and answer any questions that you have. A PDF version of the presentation I gave is available for download on the school website if you follow this link:

If there are any MYP specific questions that you have please feel free to E-mail me at jfield@amersol.edu.pe

Classroom Without Walls Trips 2010: This year, trips are scheduled for Nov. 15-19. Informational sessions for parents will be held on Sept. 3rd. Seventh grade parents will meet with trip coordinators and teachers to learn more about the trip to Iquitos at 8:00 a.m. , 8th grade parents from 8:35-9:05 and 6th from 9:10-9:40. Both 6th and 8th grade classes will be traveling to Trujillo and Chiclayo. All meetings will take place in the Little Theater.

From the Dean of Students: This year, only 8th grade students will be attending the ICC Cheer competition. This is in recognition of 8th graders as leaders of MS who will be moving to HS and taking part in this activity next year.

Each week, a different MS teacher will contribute with news of her/his classes and grade levels.

7th Grade Games by Tami Triller: In Math 7 we are off to a great start with a unit on Probability. While learning new concepts such as making a tree diagram, an area model, or an organized list, students are also reviewing some basic concepts from last year: fractions, decimals and percents. During class, students have been discussing what makes a game fair based on the probabilities of winning. As a culminating project for their probability unit, Math 7 students will be creating new games. The new games created by the seventh graders are meant to earn money. Who knows, maybe you’ll see some these new games at the Kermesse in May of 2011!

STATE OF THE SCHOOL PRESENTATION
