Kondortech team in their Copenhagen adventure here

Our team Kondortech finished in third place at the Peruvian First Lego League National Championship on November 2008 in the FDR Secondary gym.

Our team; Mariano de Osma, Maria Jose Eyzaguirre, Melissa Vidal, Nicolas Heeren, Kevin Fu and their coaches Ms Gaby Eyzaguirre and Yago de Aubeyzon obtained the award to Best Robotic Design and the Best Score on the Court

Team Inkabotz (Juan Diego Vidaurrazaga, Ernesto de Losada, Juan fernando Correa, Caroline Zecchinato, Marc Arrambire, Franco Scamarone, Andres Gonzales and Tomas Bauer) worked really hard and did a great job both on their robot's performance and their research presentation.

Late March we learned that our Kondortech team was going to get the opportunity to represent Peru in the FLL Open Championship Plus More to be held from the 1 to the 3 of May 2009 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

With very little time and since original team members Maria Jose Eyzaguirre and Melissa Vidal, where unable to travel we invited new members; Caroline Zecchinato, Juan Diego Vidaurrazaga and Juan Fernando Correa all middle school students from the Inkabotz team they joined the team to make a new and improved Kondortech.

The 2008 task was the Climate Connections and our students project proposal was to make our next year's Thematic year be "A green year" at FDR. It was with great pride that we discovered that the proposal was approved and our new thematic year for 2009-2010 would become the "Think green act green"

In the 4 weeks we had before the event we made changes to our strategy and improved the performance of our robot. We worked after school, on weekends, and holidays on our robot and our presentation. Even though we did not accomplish the scores we were hoping for, we did accomplish a good performance overall.  The Kondortech team was awarded the "Against all odds" award in recognition of their hard work, and perseverance in the little time they had to prepare for this competition and for the high quality of their product.

Copenhagen_2009The "Against All Odds" Award is, as described by FLL:
" Adversity and hardship come in many forms and sizes, but despite this, teams learn to overcome incredible odds, persevere, and never give up. They take a bad situation or problem and do whatever it takes to adapt and improvise to keep going. We recognize this team for their stick-to-it determination." We are very proud of our achievements, winning the "Against all Odds" award was an incredible experience that non of us will ever forget.

We are very honored about having had the opportunity to participate in this amazing event where more than 50 teams from around the world including our team have been invited. The tournament took place at the Bella Center in Copenhagen
