Expectations

Students are expected to do the following:

  • Take care of their belongings at all times – this is especially true of valuables
  • Attend meals on time and be as positive and as well-behaved as possible
  • Prepare their backpacks with all items that they will need the following morning
  • Respect bedtime curfew
  • Be sensitive to the needs and expectations of the group
  • Report any health problems, misunderstandings, worries or conflicts to the teachers in charge
  • Complete daily work assigned
  • Obey all of the above rules or accept the consequences for breaking them
  • Be alcohol, cigarette and drug free
  • Ask permission of teacher(s) in charge before doing anything not on the agenda
  • Refrain from using any hotel room phones
  • Stay out of rooms belonging to students of the opposite gender
  • Not to have or to use cellular phones nor any electronic device
  • Treat hotel staff and the rooms with respect and not vandalize the rooms in any way

 


Mealtimes:

All Roosevelt students know proper manners and etiquette.

  • Always keep your voice in a soft conversational level in the dining hall.
  • Use your best manners while eating.
  • Invite Explorama guests to go to the front of the line.
  • Take only the food you can eat.
  • Clean up after yourself before you leave.

Curfew

Students are expected to abide by the curfew set by the team. "Lights out" signifies the end of the day, the end of talking and the time to go to sleep. In the past, the team has dealt with curfew infractions by making the curfew hour half an hour earlier. The students that find difficulty to abide to these rules, they will be changed into a teacher’s room
