In the sixth and seventh grade, students take trips to study the sierra and selva areas of Peru. In the eighth grade, the students study the history and the geography of the coastal region of Peru, as an integral part of the Peruvian Program, so their trip will be to Trujillo and its environs.

During the week, the students will visit the ruins of Chan Chan, Huaca del Sol y la Luna, The Lord of Sipan, Tucume Pyramids, and other sites related to the Chimu and Mochica cultures, which flourished in the Trujillo area from 1000 AD to 1470 AD. They will also visit the tomb of the Lord of Sipan, dating from the Moche period, one of the most famous archeological finds in recent history. As part of the agricultural study of this area, students will visit the Bosque Seco de Pomac, Hidroeléctrica de Gallito Ciego, and also observe an asparagus farm and the milk process. As a cultural bonus, they will be able to observe a Huanchaco boatman create a caballito de totora, one of the famous reed boats that the local fishermen use. Finally, a highlight of our journey is the annual trip to an orphanage, the recipient of eighth grade charity work. The students spend part of the day with the orphans, where they will have lunch with our students. Finally, one of the most important objectives is to promote friendship and the integration of the eight graders.
