We had fully completed our planning and designing for our official plan and we were all ready to begin realizing our goals. Firstly we had to spend time at the pound to socialize with the dogs and give them the attention that domesticated animals required. We had no issue with fulfilling this part because we also needed to have over twenty hours of recorded community service hours. As time went on we realized that our initial plans for creating a booth outside of school were impossible due to our situation as students. This stalled our project and so we continued to search for other areas to publicly work. Meanwhile we continued to work with the dogs every weekend and on Wednesdays. By the time we had come up with a final decision on how to fix our problem with the booth it was already May and the end of our project was nearing so we needed to hurry. On a Saturday we set up a stall in school during a softball meet to do everything we could to raise awareness for our site. The results were very successful and we ended up raising over one hundred soles in donations for Vida Digna. Another one of our implemented plans were the flyers. On two separate Wednesdays we spent up to three hours each day going door to door and giving out information on our site. Later that week we went over to Huachipa near the pound and purchased ten bags of cement to allow Vida Digna to sanitize their quarantine area. By the time we had to prepare for our presentation our creation process had almost been completed; only the presentations to the seventh graders were missing. |
