It was not easy to think of a solution since they had many problems: poor library, old computers, paint was falling from the walls, lack of sports equipment and the children that were receiving their primary studies had to catch up with their classmates in some courses, one of them was English. We thought at first of computers, because theirs did not work any more, but after talking to a private company they offered to give a donation of six practically new computers. So we realized that since we would not have to pay for the computers we could do everything else we had thought of. We would clean and provide new books for the library, donate the six computers (five for the computer lab and one for the office), buy and give them soccer and basket balls and finally we would go every Saturday to teach English to the youngest boys. We talked to the headmaster about this and he couldn’t be more pleased. We arranged that we would went every Saturday at 10:00 am to teach to a small group of twelve kids (eight to thirteen years old). However, he had just received a call from a organization saying that they would paint their walls, so he thanked us but said that it would be a weist of money if someone else would do it again in a couple of months. |
