CoFo group 22 dedicated 2 months of work to install and supply La Sociedad Peruana de SÌndrome Down with a computer lab containing educational software called Edubuntu. CoFo is a project that lasts for one semester, and involves groups of four trying to reach out to the community and make it a better place. Our project involved the members Molly, Marijne, Daniela, and Paul, and we decided to work with children who have Down syndrome. The place we worked at was in the association with La Sociedad Peruana de SÌndrome Down. The school did not have as many privileges or departments that they would like to have. We decided to create a computer lab for them and provide a sustainable solution of a learning program. The Program we used was called EduBuntu and it was a learning software for kids from ages 6-18. We had to first clean, paint, and furnish the room with an L- shaped table and chairs. We ended up putting 4 computers in the room and 3 of them had EduBuntu installed on them. This semester long project has been very stressful yet rewarding and we are proud of what we did for the community.
