Our imagined design will be that we have a room with a bright, cheerful color; an L- shaped table, 5 computers, and curtains over the window, five chairs, and EduBuntu on all of the computers. Our mission is to help some of the kids in Lima who have Down syndrome in the first step towards being accepted into their community by teaching them basic learning skills from a computer software called EduBuntu. We had to first find donors for the computers and we discovered that in the U.S Embassy from private donations of computers. Then we had to talk to teachers about good programs that would be suitable for the kids. Miss Gaby recommended a program called EduBuntu and I had to talk to another teacher in the high school about downloading this free, legal program off of the Internet. We then had to get the program from him and find out the games that would be suitable for the kids. After that we had to think about a good fundraiser that would supply us with all of our resources.

Basically we had a set timeline that we didn’t exactly follow to finish our plan part leading up to creating the actual project. First, now that we had received donated computers and we also got the program too so we were on our way. The following materials we used for the first process of cleaning up the site: brooms, rags, vacuum, hammer. After that we had to clean off the old paint from the walls and keep the room clean. We needed Spackle, tools for applying the Spackle, ladders, rollers, paintbrushes, paint (creamy, and white colors), newspaper, and a broom for cleaning. All in all we needed a lot of supplies and we had to discover a way to buy them through a fundraiser. We came up with a burger fundraiser and made about 1000 soles through it. After that we got all the things necessary for our room, including: a donated L- shaped table, 5 computers (one of which blew up), bought mice, keyboards, speakers, chairs, and paid a technician to help us install everything as EduBuntu was very difficult to do so. It was a great project plan and we hoped to be able to complete it well.
