We, CoFo Group #9, decided to work in a site named Hogar de Vida. This home is situated in Magdalena and it is where mothers with HIV/AIDS live, along with their children.  There are thirteen mothers and fourteen children, sharing a total of ten rooms.  The reason why we decided to work in this home is because the people living there didn’t receive much support.  Unfortunately, this happened because other individuals simply did not care or were afraid of getting the disease.  Although we had many goals for this project, we were optimistic in the fact that by completing a lot of work, we could fulfill all of them.

Now, twelve weeks after our initial interview with the site official, we feel proud of everything we’ve accomplished.  We managed to build a library, complete a variety of literacy-related activities and, on some level, raise awareness about HIV/AIDS.  CoFo was a project that lasted about three months, but the experiences and memories we shared, will last a lifetime.
