The first solution we identified was to implement a human skin donation plan to surgeries of the Peruvian Plastic Surgery Society. Since the problem we identified was that the Children’s Hospital used pig skin to treat their patients, we decided to establish a donation of human skin. Human skin is more efficient than pig skin for many reasons. This skin provided a durability of twenty-one days before requiring another operation. This duration decreases the number of operations a burned patient has to undergo, which decreases the probabilities of infections and releases pain from the victim. The fact that led to creating this solution was that the excess of skin from plastic surgeries concerning the abdomen, such as abdominoplasties, was thrown away, when it could be the necessary cure for burned tissue. The second solution we identified was to enrich underprivileged children’s knowledge on burn prevention and techniques. As our community problem stated, the main victims of burns are children and many of these cases happen because of lack of knowledge on burn prevention. We decided to create professional brochures that included information related to our topic and was enhanced with colors and drawings tat made it suitable for children. We then decided to make presentations to different schools and hand out our brochures to teach small children what we have learned during these past months.
