Travel Information:

The field trip officially begins and ends at Colegio F.D. Roosevelt — all students must ride the bus from Roosevelt to the airport and from the airport to Roosevelt.

We will depart Monday morning, November 12. For specific times and dates please contact the MS Office.
All medication and directions must be given to the group leader no later than the morning of departure. Other medical information should have been listed on the permission slip you signed.

An email will be sent to parents verifying that the group arrived in Iquitos on Sunday evening. Another will be sent saying they returned to Iquitos Friday afternoon.

There will NOT be pictures on the website since there is no internet connection available in the jungle.

The Destination

We fly from Lima and land at the airport in Iquitos. Explorama buses will meet our group and transport us to the Customs Dock, the official government port of entry since 1864 for all vessels entering the upper Amazon from the Atlantic Ocean. Explorama speedboats will ferry half of our group fifty miles down river to Explorama Lodge. Established in 1965, the Lodge is the original and largest Explorama property. The other half of our group will travel 95 miles to the ExplorNapo Lodge. ExplorNapo is surrounded by the Sususari Reserve offering excellent views of undisturbed primary rainforest. The world’s highest and longest canopy walk is a short hike from ExplorNapo. Mid-way through the trip, the two Roosevelt groups will switch lodges..
