Location information - RABAT

Located in Morocco – the northwest corner of Africa, just across from Spain
The school is in the Agdal section of Rabat (the capital)
The community is relatively residential, partially commercial and appears to have grown in the past few years. I live near school and there is some construction as the area is becoming more residential, and lots more shops and restaurants are going in too.
Morocco has many faces. Its history is rich, as many different people have tried to take control of the country (it is a strategic location since it is the beginning of the Mediterranean). It was a French colony until the 1950s. So, there is an Arab section of most large cities (with its own architecture and style – usually inside a walled section of the city) and a French section (which is in contrast to the Arab section).

The countryside near school is urban, but there are some open area near the school, and the campus has some playing fields
Throughout Morocco, there is everything, from mountains (where you can ski in the winter) in the north, to desert in the south – so the weather varies greatly by area.
Rabat is right on the ocean (although you can’t see the ocean from school)

Weather

Currently it is the end of summer
It is relatively hot and humid (low 30s Celsius), but there is relief in the shade and at night
It hasn’t rained once in the last three weeks that I have been here and it is usually sunny
