IMPERIAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

5 th Grade

All About me
Hi, I am Taylor Alderete. Let me tell you a little about what I am like. I have brown eyes and brown hair. I am four foot six inches tall and weigh 65 pounds and I have tan skin.
I love playing sports and participating in school activities. I like to play sports because I like to run and compete against other teams. The sports that I like to play are soccer, softball, and basketball. I have always wanted to play tennis and Tae-Kwon-Do but my mom said that it was too much because I still had to leave time in the day to study and do my homework.

I am also on the student council at my school, Imperial Elementary. I am a room representative for 5th grade.
I like to speak in front of people and read to upper and lower graders. I am not shy, but I am thoughtful and kind.

I have two goals that I wish will come true. One goal of mine is to be a doctor who delivers babies. My second goal is to play either soccer or track in the Olympics.

All About my family
Here is some information about my family. I have a brother who is 13, a great mom and a magnificent dad. My family has lived in California for their whole entire life.
At our house our parents teach us respect and responsibility, and we do chores. I have two chores that I have to do. One chore that I have to do is to clean the bathroom trash cans. My second chore is to put the utensils away.

One tradition that our family has is if it is your birthday you don’t have to make your bed in the morning and the family gets dough-nuts. At lunch, my mom brings me what ever I want to eat and then, at dinner time I get to choose where I want to eat at.
Our family has taken some fun trips over the past few years. Every year our family takes a nice trip to Palm Springs for one week of fun. When we went to Palm Springs we went to the pool almost every day.
My mom is a registered nurse and she is also a realtor. My dad is an electrician who works in far away places everyday.
Our family is very busy. Every weekend we are either at my brother’s basketball or soccer game, or we are at my soccer games. I really enjoy when my family members go to my soccer games and cheer for me.

School and Community
Hi, I’m Taylor and I’m here to tell you about my school, Imperial Elementary. I am in fifth grade this year. I have gone to Imperial Elementary since I was in kindergarten.
The school’s mascot is the bald eagle, and on Fridays we have a spirit day and people wear red shirts with bald eagles on them.
Our school starts at 8:15 and it lets out at 2:30 for the upper graders. Lower grade levels are 1st-3rd grade and upper grade is 4th- 6th grade.
Upper graders are really lucky because we have a lot of opportunities to help if we want to contribute to the school. On of the ways in which we get to help out is by accepting a nomination for the student council. This year I was elected 5th grade room representative. If you are elected it is important that you are organized and responsible about your duties and to also try your best to make it to all of the student council meetings. The meetings are from 7:30 am to 8:00 am.

The most popular game to play at the moment is nation ball. The key to nation ball is to throw a ball at people and try to hit them while they are trying to hit you with a ball. It is a lot like dodge ball, except some of the rules are different.
All of the teachers are nice because they spend every second of their time helping us and making us better students. Imperial Elementary is the best school ever, it is a wonderful place to learn new stuff!
