All About me
|
Hi, my name is Cianna Means. I am 11 years old. I am in the sixth
grade. I like playing with my friends. I also like to talk to them
on AOL Instant Messenger. It is funny when they call me a drama queen!
LOL!
My favorite food is my mom’s grilled cheese sandwich, chili,
chicken, and chili hot dogs. My favorite desserts are cake, candy,
cheesecake, and pies. I like math, art, social studies, and reading.
My favorite places to go are to camp, the movies, theme parks, school,
kindergarten, parks, and my friend’s house.
My favorite games are Boggle, Mancala, Mastermind, Monopoly and Tangoes.
One of my favorite games to play in a restaurant is played like this:
before your food comes you ask trivia type questions to each other,
if you get it wrong you have to sprinkle salt in your hand and then
you have to eat or lick it off! My uncle taught me this restaurant
game.
The things that are important to me are my mom, Mary, family, friends,
church, my dog, babies, my teachers and one other thing, everyone
in the world is important to me even you! You are very important to
me in my heart.

I have Bilateral Optic Atrophy. That means the nerve that connects
the eye to the brain stops working. My eyes stopped working about
three years ago. I have a loss of central vision. I can only see out
of my peripheral vision. I might lose my vision later in my life.
Central vision is when you see straight out of your eyes. Peripheral
vision is when you see out of the side of your eyes. You probably
have both.
Every year I go to camp. It is a camp for the blind. It is called
Camp Bloomfield. They show us how to ride horses and to swim with
out seeing. Sometimes I crash into things at camp and it hurts badly.
Sometimes I crash at school too.
I am saving money to buy an Apply laptop with the Tiger program on
it. The Tiger Program is a built in speaking program that will help
me type. . |

School
and Community |
The name of my school is Imperial Elementary, in Anaheim Hills,
California. Imperial is a small school, with only about four hundred
students.
I have two teachers, one is for Special Ed and one is for Regular
Ed. I go to my Special Ed teacher for morning and afternoon sessions
to learn Braille, her name is Mrs. McGuire. I also have a Regular
Ed teacher. She teaches me the basic subjects like math, science,
social studies, reading, and writing, her name is Mrs. Alford.
Our school is committed to reading. We have a program called reading
counts, this is where we read a book at our reading level and then
take a test on it.
I go to and from school on the bus, it picks me up from home at
8:00 and takes me to the sitters in the afternoon.
School starts at 8:15, we have recess at 10:05 and then P.E., we
usually play volleyball or dodge ball. Lunch is at 12:00, and we
go home at 2:35.
After school I do my homework which is usually spelling, math, and
reading.
