IMPERIAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL			5 th Grade
All About me My name is Sean. I am eleven years old. I have R.P. which stands for Retinitis Pigmentosa. Retinitis Pigmentosa is a condition where the eye’s retinas are damaged which in my case prevents me from having any peripheral vision, and I don’t have good central vision either. I only have about ten degrees of vision. For example if you poked a whole in a paper plate and looked through it, you would see what I see. But I still can do anything. My favorite things to do are skateboard, swim, play video games, and make movies with my new video camera. My video camera is a canon. It is small and digital. You can also take pictures with it. I also bought a bag and some film for it. I’ve been saving money for about four years to buy this camera. My favorite sports to do are swimming and skateboarding. My brother skateboards with me a lot. I go to Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments every Saturday at nine-thirty. The tournaments usually last until about twelve-thirty in the afternoon. At Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments you don’t really play for prizes, you just go there to duel against other people with Yu-Gi-Oh cards. But some times at the store it is held at one of the workers who is watching us will let us do an actual tournament. If one of us wins a duel we get to keep our opponents best card. And the winner of the tournament either gets a rare card or a booster pack from the owner. But most of the time we just duel.	Me		School and Community My school is called Imperial Elementary School. The school grades go from kindergarten to sixth grade. There are four hundred students in the whole school. I have two teachers in school. When I go to school at eight fifteen, and after I check in with my regular teacher, I go to Mrs. McGuire’s for a half an our, so I can work on learning and improving my Braille skills. Then I go back to my regular teacher in my regular Ed class. Before I go to recess I do spelling and language arts in my regular Ed class. Then we go to recess. Then we do P. E. and go back to class. Except on Friday when we get to have extra recess if we were good at lunch all of the other days of the week. After recess we go inside and do math and then it’s time for lunch. We eat lunch for fifteen minutes and then we have lunch recess. Once recess is over we go inside to read, do science and then we do social studies. Then I go back to Mrs. McGuire’s class until schools out (which ends up being about a half an hour). Except on Tuesday which is the day we do Garage Band. Then I take the bus home or my dad or mom picks me up.
I live in California. In our community we have traffic and freeways. Freeways are big roads that can take you almost everywhere in California. There are no stop lights or stop signs. The freeway has a lot of good things about it. But there’s a down side too, and that’s the TRAFFIC. Traffic is when the freeway is backed up. This is caused by drivers who are driving slowly because of weather, an accident, or debris on the road. But most of the time it is because there are too many people on the road. We have different types of food from all over the world. We have different amusement parks. A few of them are Six Flags Magic Mountain, Hurricane Harbor, Disney Land, and California Adventure. We have schools everywhere. We have fast food stores on every corner. Some of them are Carl’s Jr., Wienerschnitzel, Burger King, McDonalds, and other weird places like that. We have gas stations that let you fill up the gas on your own. But it costs around $2.09 for regular, $2.19 for premium, and $2.29 for diesel. We have convenience stores such as 7-Eleven and Circle K. That’s some of the stuff in our community.
