Diet: aquatic vegetation, weeds
 

Predators: anacondas and caiman 
 

Adaptations: 
-They have long toes and legs and because of these, they can live in the swamps, or their natural habitat. 
-They have their colors to camoflauge them from their predators.
 

Interesting Facts: 

-they lay 4 eggs in a hatch
- long toes and claws allow it to run more easily over floating vegetation and lily pads
-the tips of the jacana's wings are pointy, used for fighting
-both male and female birds are dark brown and/or black , with a yellow beak
- they live in swampy areas and like to wade in marshes.  The jacana lives in freshwater ponds, swamps and lagoons  

-The Jacana eats insects and invertebrates that it gets from the floating vegetation and from the water surface.
