Size: 13 ft. long

Diet:  Only plants since they are herbivores.
 

Predators:  Humans, jaguars, and caimans.
 

Adaptations: Evolved from forelimbs to flippers to swim faster.  It has lots of fat called blubber to keep its body temperature normal.
 

Interesting Facts: Long ago, early explorers confused manatees with mermaids.  They are the smallest of all manatees and they have no nails.
