Piranhas

By Vittorio S

There are many animals in the rainforest. Piranhas are the most feared by indigenous people. Why is the piranha feared? Since a Piranha is a tiny animal it has to have a method and a weapon to be feared off. It is funny that for a small animal it can have a big name, which is Sarrasalmos Matteren. I'm going to describe the Piranha, how it protects itself, what it eats, and if it is endangered.

Let's see if you can Imogene a fearful Piranha. Piranhas are 6 to 8 inch fish. They have sharp teeth that look like swords in a really small mouth. They move in the water as fast as a boat and as slim as yellow. It is a black-eyed fish with big gills and a grayish color.

Well, indigenous people fear Piranhas; but why are they feared? All animals in the rainforest have a way of protecting themselves like camouflage. Piranhas have fearful teeth that are as big as a paper clip and as sharp as a knife. These teeth are in the piranha since they are born in other words; Piranhas are born with teeth. Another type of way that they protect themselves is, always piranhas are in schools (fish schools.) That way nobody attacks them because they will respond not in a very good mood of way.

Do piranhas attack all the time? Piranhas don't attack all the time they also have a diet. They eat fish, which are their balance diet, but they are strong so they eat anything that moves or passes through their way. In some cases piranhas kill people crossing a lake pond or river. That is why every time a person wants to cross the river, pond, or lake they have to sacrifice a cattle for it to distract the piranhas and like that pass as quick as possible.

Piranhas live in the water, but where in the world? Piranhas are often found in the tropical rainforests of Peru, Brazil, Panama, Venezuela, Columbia, and other parts of the world like museums. But mostly they live in ponds in enormous sacks of shoals.

Normally Piranhas are not bothered while they are in-groups not even by humans. In case one or two piranhas separate from their groups and predators attack they are eaten down or with no leg, or arm etc. I would like to say that a piranha is the most dangerous animal in the whole rain forest because of its teeth, speed, and because it lives in-groups. But Piranhas shouldn't be extinct because it has to exist form generation to generation for other generations to study it.
