Diet:
The green iguana's diet consists mainly of small leaves, flowers, and soft fruits. When they are young they eat young snails, worms, and other insects. They have a very good sense of smell. They drink water that pools and condenses on leaves and flowers of bean plants because the water has a lot of protein in it.

Predators:
Human, snakes, birds of pray, rats, weasles, cats and other large predators hunt the iguana.

Adaptations:
The Iguanas have long fingers and a long tail used to defend themselves from all predators.  Their skin is water resistant, and is thick so the many cuts and scratches are prevented.  Their blending skin helps them camouflage when predators are around. They can change their skin color to match the background.

Interesting Facts:

An Iguana can stay under water for 28 minutes. Iguanas grow to be 5-6 feet within 4-5 years. Iguanas are not suitable as pets. Iguanas have a mouthful of very sharp teeth and are not afraid to use them when suitably provoked.
