Size:  Length: up to 4 ft.  Width: 21 in. 

Life span: For male and female, up to 12 years.

Predators:  Hunted by man, jaguars, alligators and caimans. 
 

Adaptations:  It is a land animal but it is in its process of adaptation to water; It has grown hand webs, it can hold its breath longer and it is a very good swimmer. It has small legs and a big body, and it is massive. Its skin color is gray, redish brown. It has black hair in its head.

- Slightly heavier than water
- Babies weight 2 1/2 lbs.
- Can run at the speed of a horse when it is scared.
- Only 2 Capybaras have ever been in captivation. In a zoo of London.
