English  Name: Giant Water Lilly
Scientific Name: Nymphaea stellata

Spanish Name: Lirio Gigante del Agua

Size:  2 meters in diameter, stem can reach up to 6 meters.

Life span: 

Diet:   They take in water and use photosynthesis.
 

Predators:  fish and wildlife.
 

Adaptations: The Giant Water Lilies are very big so they can soke in lots of sunlight.  Also they have thorns so that their predetors wouldn't eat them.  They have roots but they are not in the soil and it lets them float around.
 

Interesting Facts: The water lily is a huge floating plant that floats above the water.  usually the lily has white female flowers and also pink male flowers.  The flowers are the size of soccer balls.The plants come from seeds that come from water that rises 10 cm. a day.  Soon it will produce 5-10 leaves a month.  The giant lilies provide food for fish and wildlife.
