  The Smithsonian offers a number of online databases providing a range of information, especially images.  You need to read the annotation of each database to see which is best for your topic.
  The Library of Congress digital collections is an excellent resource for images and other information.  Again, you will need to select the appropriate database and then search.
  Documenting the American South is a large-scale digital publishing
initiative that features primary resources in history for the study of the
history, literature, and culture of the American South. It is an
indispensable resource for study of the Civil War and the Antebellum South,
African-American history, and Southern literature. It includes public domain
full-text books, pamphlets, personal correspondence, slave narratives,
diaries, and oral histories
   
Scottsboro boys The trials of the Scottsboro boys. Excellent site on the Scottsboro boys:  biographies, images, resources, primary documents.

Reconstruction and White southern response to Emancipation, Jim Crow PBS produced, a great site with original and secondary sources, in a variety of media forms.  The site gives a good description of Jim Crow.
  American radio works. Another great site that features pictures, audio files, and video files, all documenting Jim Crow.
  Reconstruction. Informative site on the Klan and other movements to resist Emancipation.
   
Great Depression Modern American Poetry. a strong site, with a lot of text and images.
  Great Depression. A very large collection of photos and images from the Great Depression, as well as articles on relevant topics.
   
Fashion in the 30’s You may want to search Google using the search terms fashion 1930’s.  A good site is at Fashion-Era which covers shoes, hair styles, and other elements of fashion.
   
Creative Commons: Creative Commons is a movement that encourages sharing of digital information, images, files, etc.  Use Creative Commons to begin your search for images and you are assured of the legality of use.
