Media Center's Audiovisual Area FAQs....
Different non-print materials to support the K-12 curriculum and/or for your own personal enjoyment: DVDs, videos, charts, globes, maps, music CDs, audio books, book cassettes, models, etc. that you and your students can check out (students from 4th Grade up).
Digital cameras, camcorders, DVD players, multimedia projectors, multimedia carts, rolling TV sets, ….. are checked out on a daily basis ; other equipment available…. flexcams, microphones, camera tripods, digital recorders, slide projectors, stereo system, video editing equipment, sound amplifiers... If you are an Elementary teacher (and if you haven't got the multimedia rack installed yet) rolling TV carts are available for ground floor classrooms, while second floor teachers can reserve and get them through the Elementary Tech Lab.

If your classroom doesn't have one already installed on a rack, you can reserve them through the AV department in person, by email or phone (ext 4220) and take them out on an hourly or daily basis (depending on demand). If you need a laptop, it should be reserved through your Tech Lab. You are responsible of returning the equipment as well.
It is a rolling cart that contains a multimedia projector, speakers and a PC computer (no monitor), and a cable for the Internet connection. To reserve and use one follow the same procedure as multimedia projectors.
If you have a big project programmed, as a film project, it is best to order your year long supply of blank dv tapes from the Supply Room using the Spring system, but in emergencies you can get them from the AV department.

By filling in a form with the HS Secretary, Vanina Monge. You will also be asked to outline your equipment needs on the form.
You need a username and password which you can get from either your Tech Coordinator or the AV department. Then you have access to thousands of video clips and burn what you want to a CD for use in your classroom. Ask your Tech Coordinator or the AV department for help getting started withthis very useful service.
