Grade points are used for determining grade point average (GPA)
each semester and class rank in grades 11 and 12. Both Peruvian
and U.S. grading systems are used on quarterly report cards. When
there are questions regarding individual grades, the respective
teacher should be contacted. If, after talking with the teacher,
questions remain or there is dissatisfaction with the decision,
the principal should be consulted.
Pass/Fail
Certain courses, with permission of the principal, may be taken
on a "Pass/Fail" basis. The appropriate request form
must be completed in the Guidance Office. Credit is awarded when
course requirements for both quarters are fulfilled, but no grade
is entered for computing GPAs. Failing grades in the 1st or 3rd
quarters will be recorded as an "Incomplete", and students
will be expected to make up any missing requirements.
Incompletes
Incomplete work at the end of the grading period or semester
will be recorded as an "INC" or an "F" after
consultation with the principal. An "INC" shall be assigned
only when a student has missed a significant portion of the grading
period due to illness or emergency as excused by the principal,
and only after a plan to complete the missed work has been arranged
with the teacher. The student must arrange to make up incomplete
work within the first two weeks of the new grading period. Failure
of the student to meet the make-up plan will result in the "INC"
changing to an "F".
