At Colegio Roosevelt students are encouraged to
pursue a variety of activities. The Community Service Club allows
students to fulfill a big part of human nature which is sometimes
overlooked by the presence of other activities: helping others.
Directed by Ms. Pat Cessna, members of the club meet on Saturdays
to go to different places, including schools, orphanages, or assylums,
and help those who need it. They read books to children, teach
English, and participate in activities to benefit others. The
main purpose of the activities is to support less fortunate people,
not only through material benefits but also with emotional help.
In the club, students can enjoy being outdoors as well as interacting
with others in a classroom. They are required to be creative because
they have to plan new activities for the people involved and of
course, they also need to have a spirit of servitude. The club
is open to students in grades 9-12, and there are no special requirements
for those eager to join the club. Don't hesitate, join now!
Objectives of the Club:
- To develop self-awareness of problems in our country.
- To develop the students' ability to interact with other people.
- To allow students to take part in an activity that is not available
in many other places.
