The Lima International Model United Nations is a fourth year conference. LIMUN focuses on problems throughout the world, as well as the UN. LIMUN asserts that students should know what is going on in the world. LIMUN offers a wonderful opportunity for students to see how the UN works, to meet and talk with UN officials from the world. Students are encouraged to make the most of this opportunity, to speak in committee sessions, represent your assigned country, and enjoy the hands on experience of LIMUN. |
You, as a LIMUN delegate, represent a country. You will participate in the committee designated for your country. In these committees you will have the chance to represent your country’s interest in developing UN resolutions that respond to the crisis. Each committee discusses one or two aspects of the committee questions. These questions result in the resolutions that eventually emerge as a final product, which the General Assembly votes on.
Conduct: Standards of conduct for all students are expected to be maintained at an exceptionally high level. Those not willing to assume the responsibility for conducting themselves in such a manner will be asked to leave. Specifically, students are expected to have their name tags at all times, be in committee sessions and not wandering around, and remain on campus at all times.
Dress Regulations: Delegates should be reminded that the conference is a formal conference and that formal dress is required. Jeans, opened-necked shirts, etc. will not be permitted.
Use of technology: Students will have opportunities to use computers in the Library or laptops. Resolutions should be saved on network folder or on a disc.
Press: A press corps will produce a newspaper covering the events of the conference.
