  • ROOSEVELT SWIM TEAM
Congratulations to all Roosevelt swimmers for their participation on the ADCA Swim Meet on Thursday, April 24.
This is the only sports tournament that gathers students from Elementary, Middle and High School. Our Roosevelt students' enthusiasm was contagious and outstanding!
Roosevelt placed second overall, in both Boys and Girls categories. High School students, WON FIRST PLACE in the Juvenil B category for boys and girls. In addition, many of our team members received individual and relay medals. Having a pool has made a huge difference and our results show! The team is still short of 4 swimmers in category Juvenil A (born 1993-94) if your child is intersted, let us know!
Thanks to Roosevelt parents for supporting the team and for coming to cheer!!
    Enjoy the pictures

FIRST ANNUAL ROOSEVELT BOOK SWAP - THANK YOU
The Book Swap was a huge success; Roosevelt is a community of readers!  Over 3,000 books found new homes within the Roosevelt community during this year's book swap. Students, parents, and teachers were thrilled to exchange tickets for books, or to buy books at such a bargain price.  In addition, hundreds of books were donated to charity, dozens of books were added to classroom libraries, and over 50 books were added to the library collection.
A big thank you goes out to the parent and student volunteers who helped throughout the Book Swap and to everyone who donated books. We'll do this again next year, so keep that in mind as you sort through your bookshelves.

ADCA MAYORES BOYS SOCCER
The ADCA Mayores Boys' Soccer season just started last Wednesday, April 16. Roosevelt played Markham on Wednesday, April 23 and lost 1-0. On Wednesday, April 30th, Roosevelt plays Newton at Roosevelt at 4:00PM.

ES/MS CONFERENCE WEEK HAS BEEN CHANGED TO MAY 5-9
Parents, please note that our Conference Week has been moved up one week sooner due to the school holidays on May 15 and 16.  For our EC3/4 and Kinder students, Three-Way Conferences will be held.  Students participate directly in these conferences by sharing work samples from their portfolios and discussing their goals with their parents and teachers.   Grades ES 1-5 and MS 6-8 will have Student-Led Conferences, with the students leading the conferences and demonstrating their responsibility for their own learning. Teachers will be available to have individual conversations with parents during the time scheduled for the Student-Led Conferences. Please be reminded that there will be early dismissal at 12:20 each day this week, and there will be no religion classes on Wednesday, May 7.

HS PARENT / TEACHER CONFERENCES HAS BEEN CHANGED TO MAY 5 & 6

The third quarter ended on the 25th of April and grade reports will be available to parents at the Parent / Teacher conferences.  These conferences will be held at the Media Center on Monday, May 5th and Tuesday, May 6th, 1:15 and 3:15 p.m.  Please make every effort to be present to speak to your child’s teacher about his or her academic progress.

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL PARENTS
To improve communications between the HS Dean of Students, HS students and their parents / guardians, detention notification will now be sent via e-mail to all parties. To confirm receipt of the notification a return e-mail needs to be sent by HS parents / guardians at the earliest opportunity. At present, letters are lost or returned late which has made it difficult to confirm if information is being communicated effectively. Where e-mail is not available we will continue to send letters. We appreciate your support in this matter.

NO SCHOOL MAY 15 & 16
There will be no classes on Thursday, May 15 and Friday, May 16 due to the May 15-17 holiday mandated by the Peruvian government. The School Carnival, originally scheduled for May 17, is rescheduled to May 31.
