Highlights:

a Hostal Fornalutx:  amazing little 5 bedroom hostal/Bed and Breakfast with  pool, orchard and large patio - huge rooms with 4 post beds (about $100/nt.)

b Vidrio Fiore:  glass factory where they have a huge selection of their glass works for sale, and you can step into the (very hot) room where they make them and watch the workers create beautiful glass vases out of crystals - a must see

c Vallderamma:  an ancient Roman city high in the hills above Palma (20 mins) with beautiful churches and shops and cafes
d Cala Deia:  a small inlet famous for its sunsets - 2 small restaurants serve wine and tapas for the bathers - expect to dodge yachts settling in to the cove for the afternoon

e Sa Colabra:  take a boat from Port de Soller to the famous cove accessible only by 2 other methods--a treacherous road drive that can take
up to 3 hours, or a 5 hour hike, or the 20 minute ferry--a beach wedged in between 2 1000 ft.-high cliffs

f Port de Soller:  made famous this past summer by Gwyneth Paltrow's visit (Mallorca is a magnet for stars, especially during the famous "Copa del Rey"  sailing regatta at the end of July), here you can try fresh ice cream at the Soller Ice Cream Factory, or lie on the beach as yachts bobble on the water beside you, or stroll down to the seaside eateries and try the wonderful (but WAY messy!) Caldereta de Langosta (Lobster stew) with Pa' am Boli (Mallorcan bread)

g La Llontja in Palma:  the old Roman quarter is charming at night, where you can dine in one of the numerous tapas bars or sit out in the courtyard and try some clams in a marinera sauce.  Check out the Aneve (?) bar just up from the church - an interior courtyard with huge displays of flowers and fruit in between the tables, lit only by candlelight - violins galore (bring your credit card - drinks are costly!)

I have a bunch of maps, etc., even a membership card at an English-language video shop!  To see some picture, go to:
