Overseas Faculty Manual -  BRINGING YOUR PET TO PERU

The papers needed to get your pet through customs in Peru are :

  • Vaccination certificate (good for one year )
  • Health Certificate (signed by a vet no more than 10 days before your flight)
  • Letter to Senasa  (click here)

Upon your arrival at customs in Lima, you should go to the SENASA office. You will have to pay a fee depending on the time of the plane’s arrival. Between 8.a.m. and 6 p.m. the fee is US$ 17. If you arrive at night, the fee is US$ 31.

Please note that during the month of July, airlines do not allow pets to travel into Peru due to an embargo. Contact the airline you are traveling with for further information. Regulations in Peru can change without warning. We will keep you up to date on any of those changes as we become aware of them.
