Bedding you might Consider bringing:

Extra sheets (beds are usually queen size for couples, full for singles and twin for children). You should bring an extra set of flat sheets for each person. Flannel sheets are nice in the cold months.

Here are some local prices for items you may need to purchase once in Peru

Double size sheets $45.00

Twin size sheets $30.00

Bath towels $20.00

Hand towels $ 5.00

Pillows $ 10.00

Comforter $50.00

 

What you may consider shipping:

Pictures and decorative items
Your favorite CD’s—save them on an external hard drive or IPOD (Only 20 CD’s permitted per person or else you might have to pay duty and tax)
Small pieces of luggage for short trips
Family photos and family albums
Sports Equipment
Warm sleeping bag

Any other items that will make you feel at home

In general, it is better to buy appliances once you arrive. If you bring an appliance that only runs on 110 volts, it could get “fried”. The outlets in Lima are identical in looks to those in the USA and it is easy to forget and plug your 110V appliance into a 220V outlet.
