Overseas Faculty Manual - HousingAccommodations will be provided for the duration of your stay in Lima. Please send the Housing Questionnaire to the Housing & Relocation Assistant as soon as possible. The school will provide a housing allowance. The allowance may be used for rent, monthly maintenance charges, garage rental, security, City Hall taxes, and / or utilities. The rental contracts signed by the school are for 12 months. If you decide to break a rental contract, the school must send a written communication to the landlord on your behalf, at least 30 days prior to your moving date. Please be aware that the costs for breaking a rental contract should de paid by you, and those costs includes : (i) a one-month rent penalty, (ii) the next 30 days of rent generated after the landlord receives the written communication from school, and (iii) all other costs generated (maintenance, phone, cable, internet, etc.) until your moving date. The houses are furnished with basic furniture and you will be asked
to sign an inventory list assuming the responsibility for maintaining those
belongings in good conditions. You are responsible for the upkeep of your
home. Please note that in Peru, it is the tenant who is responsible for returning the House to the landlord in the same conditions
as received, except for normal wear and tear. The Human Resources Manager and the Housing & Relocation Assistant
will help you with getting yourself situated.
