Babies

Furniture and accessories are similar to what you would find in the U.S. Brand name products, such as Gracco, Playskool, Century and Fisher Price, can be found in Lima but at higher prices than in the U.S. Items made in Taiwan or Peru are more reasonably priced. However, the quality of the furniture may not meet the safety standards of the U.S. Infant car seats, portable cribs, playpens, snuggly carriers and baby backpacks (like the Gerry pack), are available in Peru. There are rattan cradles, layette sets and locally made comforters. You will also find a wide range of toiletries including a full line of Johnson and Johnson and Chicco products, disposable diapers, bottled baby formula and infant cotton clothing.

Children

Virtually everything you will need for children is available in Lima in some form or another. There is a wide range of styles, prices and quality. Children will need jackets during the winter months. Bring your children's favorite toys and games. This may ease the transition. There are lots of dolls, cars, Legos and blocks, markers and paints, educational toys, etc. Some imported toys are expensive. Locally made toys are abundant and inexpensive. Children’s birthdays are big events. You may consider bringing some party favors for your own children’s celebrations and birthday presents too for the first year.
