Nomination for Professional Development Committee Membership
The nomination process takes place in April annually. Please read the PD Committee Organization and Membership sections of this Webpage for job description and membership.
Criteria for selection:
The following are the desired qualities for members:
- Believes in the value of professional development for all members of Colegio Roosevelt.
- Thinks independently. Respects confidentiality and decisions by consensus based on PD criteria.
- Listens carefully and speaks effectively. Communicates honestly, openly and respectfully.
- Demonstrates creative problem solving and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrates empathy. Works to see all sides of an issue.
- Commits to a 2-year membership and attendance at PD meetings 4-5 times per year.
- Will become familiar with PD procedures as outlined on the PD webpage.
Selection Process – dates to be added annually:
- Each member of the faculty and staff can nominate themselves or another member of the school by April _______. These nominations should be sent to the Curriculum Coordinator either by email or in writing. (Please make sure you include your name on the nomination). Indicate why you think the nominee would be a good member.
- The Curriculum Coordinator will contact all nominees by email to determine if they would like to continue to be considered before April _________________.
- Besides the above Criteria for Selection, the PD Committee will look for diversity of members from the school divisions and for diversity in experience.
- The PD Committee will select members based on the above criteria and announce by April _______ .
- First meeting for new members will be in April/May __________________________Current PD Committee will train newcomers as they attend to their regular business.
