- KINA MALPARTIDA VISITED COLEGIO ROOSEVELT
WBA Superfeatherweight Champion and Roosevelt alumna Kina Malpartida '99 visited Roosevelt on Wedensday, March 18! It was an emotional homecoming for Kina, as it has been almost 10 years since she was at school. Kina took time from her hectic schedule to visit a few Elementary classrooms, attend Middle and High School assemblies in her honor, and reunite with her Roosevelt teachers and classmates. Kina shared her life story with students, from her days at Roosevelt to training as a boxer and her championship match. Kina was candid, eloquent, endearing, and honest as she answered questions from students; Kina is an excellent role model for students, and is a source of pride for the Roosevelt community. Thank you Kina!!

- ROOSEVELT ALUMNA IS WOMEN'S SUPER FEATHERWEIGHT WORLD CHAMPION
Kina Malpartida (Roosevelt Class of '99) is the newly crowned World Boxing Association (WBA) Super-featherweight Champion!
Kina defeated American favorite Maureen Shea on Saturday, February 21 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Kina's accomplishment is nothing short of inspiring. With focus, determination and discipline, Kina proves she is a true champion. Congratulations KINA!!
