Admissions Criteria

(Version en español)

Our primary goal in the admissions process is to assess each applicant's level of readiness for the grade to which he or she is applying. This allows us to place students in the learning environment in which they will be most successful while at Roosevelt.

Occasionally we find that Roosevelt's expectations of students are different from other international and local school. Because of that, all candidates seeking admission to Colegio Roosevelt need to schedule an interview with our school counselors to discuss entrance placement.

The school in some instances is able to offer a place in a particular grade in advance of arrival in Lima. Please consult with the Office of Admissions.

Learning Differences Services: In order to ensure that our students are successful, Roosevelt offers diagnosis and support for students who exhibit mild learning differences or other conditions that hinder their learning. Because LD needs can vary so dramatically, it is critical that families send us as much information as possible about a child with LD needs so we can evaluate whether we have appropriate resources for that child. If an applicant previously has been given a formal evaluation, the results should be passed to the Office of Admissions during the application process in order for us to be sure we have the services available to meet the child’s academic needs.

If placement testing or observation raises questions about an applicant’s learning process and a formal LD evaluation does not exist, we may request further evaluation in order to determine if we have the professional resources necessary to meet the applicant’s academic needs.
