IMPORTANT DATES

SECOND GRADE HALLOWEEN SHOW
Ms. Ginny and Ms. Tali’s second Grade class performed a Halloween show based on a
book titled "Big Pumpkin." The students acted on 2 different dates, October 29 and
October 30. Students were thrilled with the idea of becoming actors and enjoyed their "minute of fame." Boooo!

MOVIE NIGHT:
The High School ECO Club presents WALL*E.
When: Wednesday, November 4 at 5 p.m. (pre-show activities)
Where: Elementary Gym
Tickets will be sold at the Elementary Office and at the door for only 5 soles.
Note: Elementary students need to be accompanied by an adult.
Popcorn and refreshments will be available for sale.
Don’t forget to bring pillows and blankets!

DANNY, THE CHAMPION OF THE WORLD Sign-up:
Have you already read the ONE BOOK, ONE COMMUNITY pick this year? Stop by the library to sign the log, at the main desk, near the book drop. We'll keep track again of how many hundreds of people in the community have read the same book. While you're there, ask at the desk about the next Visiting Author, and think about reading one of their titles before they come.

ROOSEVELT'S ANNUAL HOLIDAY ONLINE AUCTION:
Planning has begun for this year's Annual Holiday Online Auction to be held from December 1st to December 7th. The PTA is looking for energetic, creative individuals to help make this year's Online Holiday Auction the best ever. Please contact the PTA at pta@amersol.edu.pe if you would like to be a part of this fun and exciting group or if you would like to donate an item or service.

SCHOOL MAKE UP DAYS:
The following dates were approved by the Board to make up five days of school closure in August. Please ensure to mark them in your School Activities Calendar: - 4 full days on Wednesdays: October 14, December 9, March 10 and March 24 (each Wednesday counts as one half of a make up day) - Thursday, February 25, 2010 - Friday, February 26, 2010 - Friday, July 2, 2010

THANKSGIVING BREAK
When you make plans for this long weekend, please make sure you have confirmed travel plans so that you do not make your child absent from school. Student absences due to travel problems are unexcused absences.

ROOSEVELT HOLIDAY BAZAAR :
Calling all artisans and vendors in our Roosevelt community!! Our Roosevelt Holiday Bazaar is coming up and we want you to join us. We're looking for vendors who make wonderful, unique items and who want to join us on Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7. If you are interested in participating in this year's Bazaar, please email pta@amersol.edu.pe and they will get back. For the rest of our Roosevelt community, save the date -- this will be a perfect bazaar to start your holiday shopping!

BRING A BOX:
At the end of the semester most of the elementary teachers and students will be moving to new classrooms. In this move, we will be moving all books, all computers, and all instructional materials to new classrooms.
We need your support! Please send flattened large boxes to school starting on Monday, November 2. You can bring them to the Elementary Office. We need at least 8 boxes per classroom; this means more or less 500 boxes!
Help us reach our target! Thank you very much.

GREEN TIP OF THIS MONTH: Tote a Roosevelt canvas bag as you shop! You'll save a plastic bag at every stop. They're available through our PTA.
