Elementary School Parent Bulletin – August 31, 2009IMPORTANT DATES
WORKSHOPS FOR INSTRUCTIONAL PARENT HELPERS (IN ENGLISH) Are you a FLUENT ENGLISH SPEAKER? Are you interested in being an Instructional Parent Helper? If so, please plan on attending these mandatory Parent Workshops! When: Tuesday, September 1, 2009 for Grades 1-5 Thursday, September 3, 2009 for EC3-Kinder Time: 8:00 – 9:00 a.m. Where: In the Little Theater With: Rachel Metcalf and Lorena Chávez-Molina Why: To find out about the expectations FDR has for all instructional Parent Helpers (Fluent English required!) To receive training in the areas you will be asked to provide support in. - We plan on starting the Instructional Parent Helper Program on Monday, September 7th. - If you would like to be an Instructional Parent Helper, please note that this training is mandatory. - Training will only be offered at the start of each semester. WORKSHOPS FOR GENERAL PARENT HELPERS (IN SPANISH): Are you interested in being a General Parent Helper? If so please plan on attending these mandatory Parent Workshops! When: Tuesday, September 1, 2009 for Grades 1-5; from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 3, 2009 for EC3- Kindergarten; from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Where: In the Little Theater With: Rachel Metcalf and Lorena Chávez-Molina Why: To find out about the expectations FDR has for all General Parent Helpers. ES CAR DROP OFF AREA: In an effort to improve traffic flow in the morning, starting tomorrow we will once again allow Middle School and High School siblings of Early Childhood /Elementary School students to enter campus through the ES car drop-off area (Gate #2 - Calle Los Eucaliptos). MS and HS students may then walk across campus to their divisions. This added flexibility to the morning flow of traffic should alleviate some of the congestion in the HS/MS drop off area (Gate #5 - Av. Las Palmeras). |
