PARENT ORIENTATIONS:

This week we begin our parent orientations, and we hope you take advantage of this opportunity to meet your child’s teachers, learn about the curriculum and expectations, and ask questions.  Please refer to the dates listed above.  Your child will bring home more detailed information closer to the time of your orientation.

AFTER-SCHOOL ACTIVITIES:

After-School Activities will begin Monday, August 24 for first through fifth graders. Registration slips will be distributed on Monday, August 10 for students in grade1-5. Students must bring the complete registration slip as soon as possible, not later than Friday, August 14.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL UNIFORMS:

All students (EC3 - grade 12) are required to wear the official school uniform. Parents may purchase the following uniform items in the Uniform Shop on the lower floor of the high school building between 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. daily. Phone 702.4511 Ext. 4146

We remind parents that students are expected to wear all white or all black “traditional” sneakers.

CAPS and SUNSCREEN

Though it is winter, we encourage parents to apply sunscreen to their children each morning before leaving for school. Also, students should wear a cap or hat while outside. The sun can come out unexpectedly and is much stronger than it feels.  So sunscreen and caps are necessary for good skin care in Lima.

P.E. UNIFORM

Students in grades 4 and 5 are required to wear the gray P.E. t-shirts to P.E. ONLY. They are asked to change into their gray shirt before P.E. class begins and then change back into their white shirt before they return to their homeroom class.  Students in EC3-3rd grades are expected to wear the white uniform shirt at all times.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

  • white long or short sleeve polo style t-shirt (4 & 5 grade students must change into gray polo shirt only for P.E. classes)
  • dark blue sweat pants or unisex shorts with red stripes and FDR logo
  • white socks (with or without FDR logo/initials)
  • all black or all white traditional sneakers (one color with matching shoe laces, not “ballerinas”)
  • red polar vest with FDR logo and/or
  • white sweatshirt with FDR logo and/or
  • dark blue jacket with FDR logo

Optional:

  • Students may use white short sleeved t-shirts under short sleeved polo shirts.
  • Students may use white long sleeved t-shirts or turtle necks under long sleeved polo shirts.
  • Girls may use dark blue lycra gym shorts under P.E. pants.
  • Students may use red, white or navy blue scarves in cold weather.
  • Students may wear hats or caps outside.

IDENTIFICATION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY

Parents and students are asked to be sure that all student clothing and personal belongings are labeled clearly with the student’s name, so that they may be returned to the student if they have been misplaced. Students are requested NOT to bring articles such as jewelry, money, or other valuables to school.
