Parents, you will be proud of all the fourth graders for their excellent efforts to solve problems in their lives.   The entire fourth grade says, “See you there!”

STUDENT/PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES LAST WEEK:

What celebrations they were!  It was wonderful to see our students so well-prepared and confident as they shared selections of their work, reflected on their effort, and set goals for the last quarter.  We appreciate our parents for showing up on time and for being actively involved and supportive in their children’s learning.  We’re also pleased that so many of you found the one-on-one time with the teacher at the end of the conference beneficial.

VISITING AUTHOR

Claudia Paz, a local children’s author, shared several of her books with our EC, kinder, first, and second grade students.  The students especially enjoyed books such as Clavito el Puercoespin and

Feliz Cumpleaños Pollito and the songs that accompanied them.

MESSAGE FROM DIVYA, ESMERALDA AND MARIA TO3rd, 4th and 5th GRADE PARENTS:

We are students in 5th grade and we would appreciate if you could send used batteries to your child’s classroom. Teachers already have special containers where they will collect them.

We would like to tell you some facts about how batteries pollute the ocean. Did you know that one battery contaminates 175,000 liters of water? That is the amount of water that one person could consume in all his/her life. Also one battery disintegrates in a million years, and while it disintegrates it contaminates air, land, ocean, and especially US. Thank you for your cooperation and attention!!!!
